Masters Award 2009
Ryan Burns of San Diego University was selected as the recipient of the 2009 CaGIS Scholarship Award at the Masters Level.
Ryan Burns’ Masters work at San Diego University represents classical human-subject cartography but for the 21st century; he uses a new generation of Web 2.0 volunteer geographic information and innovative ways of representing and accessing these data. Burns' work is representative of research at the intersection of critical geography and intensive computation and visualization. In his letter, Andre Skupin writes that Ryan is, "simply put... one of the most impressive, interesting, and engaging students I have encountered."
Ryan Burns was selected for the 2009 CaGIS Masters Award from 11 very strong applications.
