by Ilse Genovese last modified 2009-04-04 20:03

Bernhard Jenny is a PhD candidate at the Institute for Cartography at ETH Zurich. His CV could be mistaken for a mid-stream tenure-track professor, with several publications in international journals and an established reputation as an innovative researcher. He has created software for a wide range of cartographic applications, from projection creation for the layperson, to thematic flow mapping, to visualization for the color-impaired. He also maintains cartography-oriented web sites and has made his software freely available. About Bernhard, ICA President Bill Cartwright says, "his knowledge of both computer science and cartography is indeed remarkable... it allows him to realize interdisciplinary by utilizing his technical knowledge and theoretical understanding."
