CaGIS representation on NGAC
The CaGIS Board is pleased to announce that Allan Carroll, Chief Cartographer and Executive Vice President of National Geographic Maps, National Geographic Society, has been selected by the Secretary of the Interior to serve on behalf of CaGIS on the National Geospatial Advisory Committee (NGAC) formed by the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) under the Federal Advisory Committee (FACA).
Carroll was endorsed by both CaGIS and ACSM and was selected from amongst more than 100 nominations submitted. The purpose of NGAC is to provide a means through which non-federal stakeholders can provide input to the FGDC.
