Kaile Bower began her career at the U.S. Census Bureau in 1999 working in the Geography Division. Over the last 10 years she has worked as a cartographer in the Cartographic Products Branch working on both field and publication maps. In her current role as a Geographic Specialist, she is a special assistant to the Chief of the Geography Division as well as helps to coordinate and oversee the activities in the Geocartographic Products and Criteria area of the Geography Division. Ms. Bower has also been an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland, teaching Cartography and GIS. Her current research interests are centered on geographic education. Ms. Bower received her Bachelor of Science in Cartography from Salem State College in Massachusetts. She continued her education at the University of Georgia working on a master’s degree in geography with a concentration in geographic techniques.
