New CaGIS editors
The Cartography and Geographic Information Society (CaGIS) is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Michael Leitner, Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at Louisiana State University, to Editor of CaGIS's journal Cartography and Geographic Information Science. Dr. Leitner replaces Dr. Elizabeth Nelson who is stepping down after several years of dedicated service to the journal to pursue new academic interests.
We are also delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Jeong Chang "JC" Seong, Associate Professor of Geosciences at the University of West Georgia to Associate Editor of Cartography and Geographic Information Science. Dr. Seong replaces Professor Robert McMaster who has recently taken up post of Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Education at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
Drs Leitner and Seong will work with the three veteran CaGIS Editors, Professor David Bennett, Associate Editor; Dr. Thomas Hodler, Cartographic Editor; and Ilse Genovese, Managing Editor. We are certain the exceptional talents of these five editors will ensure that our journal will continue to grow in stature in the academic community.
We congratulate Drs Leitner and Seong on their appointments, and we look forward to working with them in the future.
Please note that manuscripts for publication in CaGIS should now be sent to Dr. Leitner via e-mail at mleitne@lsu.edu. Guidelines for CaGIS contributors can be found on the CaGIS web site at www.cartogis.org.
